Q: I signed up, now what happens?
A: You will receive an email confirmation from us with information regarding your designated day. In the next few days we will deliver your bin(s) along with a printed information sheet regarding materials, preparation, etc.
Q: When and where do I put my bin(s)?
A: Bins need to be out at the curb by 7 a.m. to ensure pickup. If you are missed because they weren't out in time, you'll need to hold your materials till the next pickup day.
Q: Where do you take the materials?
A: Currently we haul the materials we collect to QRS River Hills and Pratt Recycling in Nashville. Since we began in November of 2008, we've collected more than 400,000 pounds of materials that may have otherwise ended up in the landfill!
Q: How do I know that I get the service I am paying for?
A: AB Recycle has accounts with Pratt and QRS. They can verify the time, date and amount of materials we drop.
A: You may put any excess in another container or a plastic bag.
Q: Do you have a drop off location?
A: No, we are strictly a mobile service.
Q: What about holidays?
A: It is much easier for us to run the route than reschedule, therefore we run on most Federal Holidays, (i.e. Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.) There is no pickup on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Years Day. We will inform you of the rescheduled dates.
Q: What is your bad weather policy?
A: We will do our best to run the route, however some stops will be left to the driver's discretion. In the case you are missed on your designated day we will email you with further instruction.
Q: Do you take styrofoam?
A: No, but you can take some styrofoam items, such as egg cartons and takeout containers to Publix Grocery Stores. Styrofoam peanuts can be taken to your local UPS Store or Pony Express where they can be reused.
Q: Do you take lightbulbs?
A: We do not take lightbulbs, however, unbroken CFL's can be recycled at the local Home Depot.
Q: Do you take TV's?
A: No. If it works, you might want to donate it to Goodwill or The ARC of Davidson County. Also, Best Buy will recycle TV's that are under 32". They may charge a small disposal fee.
Q: Do you take batteries?
A: Regular batteries can go in with your regular trash. Nickel cadium/rechargeable batteries can be taken to the local Radio Shack for recycling.
