 Labor Day 2010

 Recycled to date:

 January 2010

July 2010: 34,360 pounds
Jan-June 2010: 245,550 pounds
Jan-Dec 2009: 320,220 pounds
Nov-Dec 2008: 57,369 pounds

NEW GLASS POLICY: We are instating a new glass policy as some are still mixing glass containers in with the regular recycling.  Please note that our new policy will be to leave everything behind when glass is mixed in.  We hate to be this harsh, but our previous method is no longer working.  Glass must go to a separate recycling facility and it is very time consuming for us to sort through your bins.  It is also hazardous as accidents happen causing us to spend more time cleaning up broken glass.

Hendersonville Holds a Recycling Event

It was a first of its kind event in Hendersonville Saturday. Leaders held the first ever Recycle Day there.  The fundraising event was sponsored by AB Recycle and the proceeds went to Beautiful Hendersonville.  The event was a chance for residents to unload clutter without having to go far. Paper, cardboard, plastics, aluminum and steel were accepted. Event organizers say while there are other ways to recycle, having an event close to home is ideal.  The turnout was excellent and they collected 1,240 pounds of material which filled the 16’ dump trailer supplied by AB Recycle.
